2021 International Symposium on Treatment of Brain and Neurology Disorders – Neuronavigation Focused Ultrasound Induced CNS Intervention
The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan are hosting a virtual International Symposium on Treatment of Brain and Neurology Disorders on October 5th, 2021, featuring a gathering of domestic and foreign medical experts and consultants who will explore disease mechanisms, exchange research and development results, and discuss clinical applications.
NaviFUS Corp. Founder & Chief Technology Consultant Dr. Hao-Li Liu will present on the topic of Neuronavigation Focused Ultrasound Induced CNS Intervention. He will share results of innovative research using the NaviFUS® (Neuronavigator-guided transcranial focused ultrasound system) in enhancing CNS drug delivery, neuromodulation, and opening the Blood-brain barrier (BBB) with FUS energy for better treatment outcomes.
- Focused Ultrasound provides versatile therapeutic possibilities
- Focused Ultrasound is a promising tool for noninvasively opening the blood-brain barrier, which can potentially deliver large-molecule cancer drugs as well as gene delivery for neurodegenerative diseases.
- On-going proof-of-concept clinical trials show the value of FUS-BBB opening
- Neuromodulation and its related clinical applications (such as epilepsy control) may become a “breakthrough” therapy for focused ultrasound
